My Four Season Girls as magical girls. Yes, this was because of "I Don't Want To Be A Magical Girl" (check it out).

The gist is the Goddesses of the 4 Seasons reincarnate as four different girls who are born looking like quadruplets, who have the memories locked within familiars (a stoat, a wood frog, a woodpecker and a caiman) and must find each other and their memories to save humanity from the gods who love nature and have given up on humanity saving the Earth.

I'm having the girls be born in 4 corners. Also they all now have last names:

Ren Akane in the east, born in Japan,
Miyuki Stahl in the north, born in Siberia,
Haruko Mamee in the west, born in Puerto Rico, and
Natsuko Olivera in the South, born in Paraguay.
