Nicole with her, um...alternate's, Chun-Ni and Chichi's mom, who I'll call Caitlyn (so that all of of them 'c' and 'n' in their names). Nicole's phone has 'G' for 'go', 'Y' for 'yield' and 'St' for 'stop'. All together you get 'gyst', like 'the gist of things'. If I had to give them a "How They Met" story, I'd do this:
Nicole being an over-achiever for her parents' expectations gave her fame throughout her school life.
Chun-Ni would be competitive and want to surpass Nicole, but instead find Nicole in a moment of vulnerability, crying from not getting all As on her report card. Seeing Nicole suffering from this makes Chun-Ni realize that striving to achieve perfection is a losing battle and offers a hand of compassion. She tells Nicole that the 'B-pluses' of the world will never make her a failure. Not even a 'C' or 'D' would. Nicole then knew that imperfection can be a "blissful inevitability ". Nicole would giggle at Chun-Ni and say, "Well, look at you with your big words." To which, Chun-Ni says, "I know. I'm smart."
Caitlyn would be an awkward and average girl who Nicole saves from bullies, causing Caitlyn to admire Nicole to the point of trying to emanate her. This leads to Caitlyn following Nicole to learn how to be more like her. Before talking to Chun-Ni, Nicole is bugged by her stalker and vents her frustration out on her. Caitlyn apologizes for bothering her before running away to cry. After Chun-Ni cheered Nicole up, they look for Caitlyn so Nicole could apologize to for yelling at her. Caitlyn apologizes for stalking Nicole, explaining why she did it.
Afterwards, Nicole lets bygones be bygones and invites Caitlyn to be friends with her and Chun-Ni. As the years go by, the three start dating, with Chun-Ni being the protective girlfriend, Caitlyn being the peacemaker girlfriend and Nicole being the neutral force girlfriend.
