Short for "Ironically, her name is Rose." It's ironic because she's the opposite of a rose. A rose is so beautiful that it lures you in, forgetting that it's guaranteed to hurt you with its thorns. Rose (a hedgehog) is covered with so many noticeable thorns(or "quills") on her, that people avoid her believing she'll hurt them, not giving her a chance to show her gentle side. She (inner beauty masked by painful thorns) is ironically named after the rose (outer beauty masking pain from thorns that it's guaranteed to bring you.)
The moral? Don't assume that the rose (plant) is is worth embracing and the "Rose" isn't.
